Conversational hypnosis is considered to be the same as covert hypnosis or, less frequently, as underground hypnosis. But why does a technique, which is based upon proven therapeutic results, find itself so frequently referred to as some sort of dark art or mystical practice? The fact is that conversational hypnosis does, possibly, have an element of secrecy about it and even the potential for devious misuse. Conversational hypnosis is at its most effective when the subject is not aware of the process. Therefore, to a certain extent, it is true to say that it does present those who would like to hypnotize others for their own amusement or personal gratification the tools they need to achieve their questionable aims.
However, conversational hypnosis is merely a methodology, it is up to the individuals that learn the associated skills to make the moral choices about how they use it. Clearly when you consider what someone might do with the ability to make people behave in any way they chose one can mediately imagine some rather unsavoury possibilities. Initially you might conclude that covert hypnosis presents too great a risk and should be tightly controlled. Indeed, as our awareness and understanding of the hypnotic process increases many feel argue that licensing should be considered. Conversational hypnotists however will also point out that many trained psychotherapists and psychologists favour conversational hypnosis for the treatment of long term problematic behaviours and that their work benefits a great many people.
So where do you draw the line between respectable conversational hypnosis and the rather more questionable covert or underground hypnosis? Both rely upon the subjects lack of awareness of the actual process however, whereas so called street hypnosis often means that the hypnotist will use the techniques without telling the subject of their intention the professional conversational hypnotists, including reputable stage performers, do announce their intention. For example a person who goes to see a stage hypnotist knows that the performer is going to use some form of hypnotism. Similarly, someone who spend time in hypnotherapy understands that the person they are working with possesses hypnotic skills.
In contrast, underground or street hypnosis generally, but not always, refers to the use of conversational hypnosis with people who, not only remain unaware of the specific process but also have no knowledge that they are speaking to someone who could hypnotise them.
So Are There Many People Using Street Hypnosis To Get What They Want From Me?
Nobody likes to think that they are being taken advantage of and the thought of somebody else controlling us through hypnosis is an uncomfortable idea for most. It means that we do not have complete free will and goes to the very heart of out individuality. However street hypnosis is a reality and more and more people are learning the techniques for a variety of reasons. Some of those reasons are perfectly reasonable whilst others, unfortunately, verge upon the criminal. For example have you ever enthusiastically purchased a used car from a talkative salesperson, only later realizing what you bought is not at all what you wanted? Do you recall a situation where you met somebody on the street or at work, and they seemed totally in control of the conversation, with you seemingly unable to grasp any control at all? The chances are they were using some sort of street hypnosis on you.
What is perhaps even more alarming is that conversational hypnosis enables the hypnotist to actually change your behaviour to a certain extent. For example buying a car that you don’t really want or agreeing to do something without really knowing why. More importantly perhaps another distinction is that Street Hypnosis, covert hypnosis and underground hypnosis are performed by untrained individuals whereas conversational hypnosis is more often associated with qualified practitioners in the psycho therapeutic and psycho analytical fields. It also has to be acknowledged that the growth in numbers of so called street hypnotists far outweighs the relatively smaller increase in the number of formally trained conversational hypnotists. The Main reason for this is the increase in the use of online training course. Whereas, until quite recently, training was limited by both the cost and availability of well structured, professionally delivered training, there are now a number of excellent online courses. However, it has to be said, that even some of these rely upon the image of conversational hypnosis as a secret “dark art” to boost their marketing efforts.
Fortunately there is no need to panic. The vast majority of people who start to learn the techniques involved with conversational hypnosis do not go on to develop their skills to the extent that they can really change control your behaviour. As with anything else in life, even if you choose to study covert hypnosis informally, there is a lot to learn in order to really master the technique. Most people do not apply themselves to it to that extent. Nonetheless, for those that do, the possibilities are endless.
So why should anyone learn conversational hypnosis?
Conversational hypnosis enables the hypnotist to use specially constructed phrases, body language signals and expressions to put the subject into a trance like state of high suggestibility. Once the subject has achieved the ‘open trance’, even whilst they remain entirely conscious, the conversational hypnotist is then free to implant any suggestion they like directly into the subjects subconscious mind. In the past access to the kind of expert training you require, if you wish to be a successful conversational hypnotist, has been relatively exclusive. In part this has been due to the often staggering price of good quality courses and seminars. However there are now a number of online alternatives that offer the possibility for any body to learn the powerful technique of conversational hypnosis.
As you can imagine this is a technique that offers considerable opportunities and this is one of the reasons why professionals from all walks of life have used conversational hypnosis technique to further their own careers, improve sales and build better client relationships. Similarly the medical profession has also adapted some of the conversational hypnosis techniques into formal hypnotherapy. Those who successfully master conversational hypnosis have found their lives improve dramatically due to their skill. For example if you struggle with self confidence conversational hypnosis techniques could enable you to easily convince a room full of strangers that you are a warm, trustworthy and friendly person to talk to. Sales professional have found that, by using conversational hypnosis, they can see remarkable improvements in their revenue; individuals who struggle with relationships are able to use conversational hypnosis to break the ice and convince prospective partners that they are highly desirable. The possibilities are literally endless.
However, perhaps more importantly for many, learning conversational hypnosis enables people to take more control over their lives. It gives you more choice in your career, personal life and relationships. Furthermore knowledge of how the subconscious mind controls our behaviour, belief systems and much more can be a source for incredible personal development. Once you realise the ability to analyse your own thought processes you are close to taking positive action to address any personal issues. Whether it is a matter of improving your own sense of self worth by developing previously hidden talents; if you are able to address deep routed fears or negative thought concepts
